The windshield wiper and washer control lever is located on the right side of the steering column and moves in a plane parallel to the steering wheel. The windshield wiper and washer operate only when the ignition is on.

The windshield wiper and washer control lever is located on the right side of the steering column…

Windscreen wiper

In frosty weather, before turning on the windshield wipers for the first time, you should check whether the brushes are frozen. The windshield wiper and washer control lever can be set in the following positions (see picture):
  • position 0: off;
  • position 1: intermittent movement of the wipers. 8 In this position of the switch, the wiper blades stop for a while between two subsequent strokes;
  • position 2: slow continuous movement of brushes;
  • position 3: Fast continuous movement of the brushes.

Automatic windshield wiper mode

Under normal operating conditions, the windshield wiper operates intermittently, at low or high speed. The wiper mode can be changed using the ring on the wiper stalk. The mode can also be changed automatically depending on the vehicle speed (except for vehicles equipped with a rain sensor).

If the windshield wiper speed is selected while driving, then when the car stops, the windshield wiper switches to a lower speed:
  • from continuous high speed operation to continuous low speed operation;
  • from continuous low-speed operation to intermittent operation.

When the vehicle starts moving again, the wiper returns to the selected speed.

If the car is equipped with a rain sensor, the speed of the windshield wiper does not depend on the speed of the car.

Note: Any action on the windshield wiper switch lever changes the priority and cancels the previously set mode.

Automatic mode does not turn on if low or high windshield wiper speed has been selected by the current vehicle. If the load on the windshield wiper arms is too high (for example, at high speed, etc.) The UEC automatically switches the windscreen wiper to a lower speed.

In case of blocking of the windshield wiper mechanism (for example, when the brushes freeze to the windshield, etc.) The UEC automatically interrupts the power supply to the electric motor.

The windshield wiper operates automatically and selects the frequency of the brushes depending on the amount of precipitation. After turning off the ignition, you must activate this function so that the rain sensor monitors the condition of the windshield. To do this, move the switch from position 1 to position 0, then return it to position 1.

Windshield washer

To turn on the windshield washer, move the lever toward the steering wheel, regardless of the position of the lever. If necessary, use a pin to adjust the direction of the jets of liquid supplied to the glass. In summer, add a special detergent to the liquid, and in winter - a product that prevents the liquid from freezing.

Rear window wiper To turn on the rear window wiper, turn the ring located at the end of the wiper handle until the mark aligns with the first symbol 6.

Rear window washer

To turn on the rear window washer with the ignition on, turn the rear window wiper ring, located at the end of the switch lever, until the mark on the ring aligns with the second symbol on the lever 7. After releasing the ring, it will automatically return to position 6 for the rear window wiper.
