Some cars ixhxuw parking assistance system designed to inform the driver of obstacles behind the car (a pole, another car, etc.) when reversing.
Functioning
The system includes:
- four infrared sensors built into the rear bumper;
- stand-alone computer (with diagnostic function);
- sound warning signal.
The system is automatically activated when reverse gear is engaged (activation of the system is accompanied by a short sound signal). Ultrasonic sensors built into the rear bumper measure the distance between the car and a potential obstacle.
The frequency of the sound signal varies depending on the distance, the sound alarm is activated when the distance between the obstacle and the bumper is approximately 150 cm. At first it is an intermittent signal, which becomes continuous when the distance is reduced to 25 cm.

Note: Ultrasonic sensors must be clean for the system to function properly.
If the system detects a malfunction, it will emit an intermittent signal for approximately five seconds.
In bad weather or when using bicycle holders, obstacle recognition by the sensors is problematic.
