The measurement is accompanied by sound signals, the frequency of which increases as the car approaches the obstacle; once the distance between the car and the obstacle is approximately 25 centimeters, the signal will sound continuously.
Forward motion
The parking assistance system is only activated if the vehicle speed is less than approximately 10 km/h.
Most objects located at a distance of approximately 60 centimetres from the vehicle in front are detected and an audible signal is emitted.
Reverse
When reverse gear is engaged, most objects located at a distance of approximately 1.5 meters behind the vehicle are detected and an audible signal is emitted.
If an obstacle is detected both in front and behind, the obstacle closest to the vehicle is taken into account and a warning sound is emitted. If both obstacles are less than 30 cm from the front and rear of the vehicle, the warning sounds are emitted alternately.
Turning the system on and off
The parking assistance system is switched on and off using button 1.
Automatic system shutdown
The system shuts down:
- with the servo parking brake applied;
- at vehicle speeds above approximately 10 km/h;
- when the vehicle is stationary for more than approximately five seconds and an obstacle is detected (for example, in a traffic jam, etc.);
- if the gear shift lever is in neutral position (car with manual transmission) or selector lever—in position N or P (car with automatic transmission).
