Other sensors installed on the vehicle monitor the actual trajectory of movement.
The system compares the trajectory set by the driver with the actual trajectory of the car and, if necessary, corrects it by acting on the brakes of certain wheels and/or limiting the engine power. If the system is triggered, a warning light flashes on the instrument cluster.
The ASR system is an addition and part of the ESP system. It reduces slippage of the drive wheels and improves vehicle control when starting off, during sudden acceleration or braking. Using sensors installed on the vehicle wheels, the system measures and compares the rotation speed of the drive wheels and tracks a sharp increase in their relative rotation speed.
If a wheel starts to slip, the system brakes the wheel, reducing the wheel torque to a level that maintains traction. The system also controls the engine speed, maintaining it at a level that maintains traction, regardless of the accelerator pedal position.
Malfunctions
If the system detects a fault, the message "Check ESP" is displayed on the instrument panel and a warning light with a wrench symbol lights up. In this case, the ESP and ASR systems are disabled.
Enabling and disabling the ESP and ASR systems
You can turn the systems on or off by pressing key 1. In this case, a message appears on the instrument cluster "Traction control off".
