Intermediate steering column shaft:
1 — bolt of the terminal connection of the cardan joint fork of the steering shaft;
2 — intermediate shaft;
3 — bolt for fastening the intermediate shaft to the steering column.
Loosen the steering shaft cardan joint bolt. Mark the position of the intermediate shaft (2) on the steering column.
Unscrew the bolt (3) securing the intermediate shaft from the steering column side.
Disconnect the universal joint fork from the steering gear.
Remove the intermediate shaft by moving it in the direction of the arrow.
Note: Replace the intermediate shaft mounting bolt on the steering column side.
Install the intermediate shaft on the steering column without changing its position by more than one tooth compared to the original position. Check the correct position of the intermediate shaft from the steering column side.
Pre-tighten the intermediate shaft bolt on the steering column side.
Pull the intermediate shaft towards you to make sure the bolt is on the shaft journal.

Connect the cardan shaft joint yoke to the steering gear.
Make sure the universal joint yoke is installed in the correct position on the steering gear near the pinion.
Pre-tighten the steering shaft universal joint yoke terminal bolt. Tighten to the specified torque:
- intermediate shaft mounting bolt on the steering column side 31 Nm;
- steering shaft cardan joint fork terminal connection bolt 62 Nm.
Checking the intermediate shaft
These vehicles are equipped with a non-separable unit: telescopic shaft - steering shaft - steering column. If it is not possible to tighten the bolt of the terminal connection of the cardan joint of the steering shaft, or after a collision, make sure that the length of the telescopic shaft is within the norm.
Make sure: L = 313.90 +/- 1 mm.
If the intermediate shaft length is not within specification, replace the entire steering column assembly.
Caution: Do not pull on the telescopic shaft (after the blow).
