Loosen locknut (1) wheel alignment adjustment.
Loosen the nut (2) fastening of a finger of a spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft.
Press out the ball joint with a puller (Tav. 476).
Unscrew the tie rod by turning it counterclockwise and note the number of turns of the tie rod to install.
Remove the tie rod (3).
Replace the tie rod end ball joint nut.
Wrap steering draft on the number of turns noted at removal. Install the ball joint pin of the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
Install the tie rod end ball joint nut.
Torque tighten:
- nut for fastening the ball joint of the front suspension arm 37 Nm;
- wheel alignment locknut 53 Nm.
Note. Inner ball joint stops (1) are color-coded. When removing or replacing the inner ball joint, observe the color marking of the limiter when installing.
Steering gear cover
cut holder (1) steering gear cover.
Remove holder (2) steering gear cover.
Remove protective cover (3) steering mechanism.
Shield seal
Disconnect in place (1) front shield seal (2) screwdriver with a flat blade.
Remove the bulkhead seal from the steering gear
Tie rod inner ball joint
Cut off the big collar (1) from the steering gear cover on the left.
Take aside the left protective cover of the steering mechanism.
Remove the right protective cover of the steering mechanism (see above).
Turn the wheels until they stop so that the rack teeth on the side of the drive gear are exposed. Attach the steering lock (Dir. 1903) (1) on the steering gear from the side of the drive gear. Disconnect the rod with the inner ball joint using a tool for removing and installing the axle joint with a diameter of 35 mm - 41 mm (Dir. 1305-01) (2).
Remove the rod with the inner ball joint.
Replace:
- washer of the inner joint of the steering rod;
- a nut of fastening of a finger of a spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft;
- protective cover of the steering mechanism;
- clamp of the protective cover of the steering mechanism.
Establish draft with an internal spherical joint.
Torque tighten the inner ball joint rod 79 Nm using the tool (Dir. 1903).
