Replacing the release bearing (Renault 19)

In this case, it is necessary to remove the gearbox. The clutch release bearing is loosely mounted in the clutch release fork and can thus move back and forth on the clutch shaft or main shaft.

1. Turn the clutch release fork with the bearing inward and remove it together with the rubber seal from the clutch housing.

2. Disconnect the clutch release bearing and fork.

3. If you plan to reinstall the old bearing, do not rinse it, just wipe it.

4. When installing the bearing on the clutch release fork, the support square must sit correctly in the clutch release fork.

5. Lubricate all bearing parts and contact points with MoS2 paste.

Note: Recommendation: as practice shows, the clutch release bearing usually does not last longer than the driven disk. Therefore, it makes sense to replace these elements at the same time to avoid new clutch repairs in a short time.
