High pressure fuel pump
Malfunction | Her reason | Trouble-shooting |
A.A cold engine starts poorly or does not start at all. | 1. There is no fuel in the tank. 2. The pre-heater did not operate long enough. 3. Faulty thermal switch «quick» idle move. 4. Faulty preheater. 5. Solenoid control solenoid shutdown solenoid is defective or not receiving power. 6. Air enters the power system. 7. Faulty fuel supply system. Check: Unscrew the pipes from the injectors and see if fuel is coming in. 8. After removal, the pipes were installed incorrectly. 9. The setting of the beginning of the injection cycle of the high-pressure fuel pump is violated. 10. One or more injectors are defective, clogged or low injection pressure. 11. Valve clearance broken. 12. Too low engine compression pressure | Fill with fuel. Warm up until the control lamp goes out. Check thermal switch. Check the function of the glow plugs and preheater. Check solenoid control cut-off device. Crank the starter until fuel comes out. Check the integrity and tightness of the fuel lines, as well as whether they are clogged anywhere. Filter clogged? In winter: fuel thickened? Check: the top left connection on the fuel pump to cylinder #1, the bottom left to cylinder #3, the bottom right to cylinder #4 and the top left to cylinder #2. Adjust. Check and repair or replace.

B.Engine has poor or fluctuating idle speed. | 1. The idle speed is not adjusted correctly. 2. Throttle cable is incorrectly adjusted or hard to move. 3. Loose fuel hose between filter and pump. 4. Faulty low pressure hoses or EGR valve. 5. Weak or stripped high pressure fuel pump rear mount. 6. See A. 6, 7, 9 and 11. 7. Worn or loose engine mount. | Adjust. Correctly adjust, make the move easier. Draw connections. Check, replace if necessary. Fix or replace.
|
C.Thick black, white or gray smoke comes out of the exhaust pipe. | . The engine is not warm. 2. The gas pedal is pressed hard at low speeds. 3. Air filter dirty. 4. Fuel filter dirty. 5. The setting of the maximum speed is violated. 6. The nozzle is leaking. 7. Burnt or broken nozzle needle. 8. Injection pressure too low. 9. Wrong nozzles installed. 10. See A. 9 and 11-13. | Check again with a warm engine. Shift gears while driving at higher RPMs. Clean or replace. Replace. Have it adjusted at a workshop. Check and replace. |
E.Low power, too low top speed. | 1. Fuel pedal travel too short. 2. Incorrectly adjusted throttle cable. 3. The throttle lever on the injection pump is loose. 4. The maximum number of revolutions is not reached. 5. The connecting holes of the fuel pipelines are narrowed. 6. Wrong piping installed. 7. Leaky or defective heat shields on the nozzles. 8. Incorrect injection pressure in the injectors. 9. See A. 6, 7, 9 and 11-13. 10. See pp. 3, 4 and 6-10. | Adjust the throttle control cable. Adjust. Pin. Unscrew the pipes and check. Check pipelines. |
F.Too high fuel consumption. | 1. Leaky power system. 2. Clogged recirculation hoses. 3. Too high idle speed. 4. Too high maximum speed. 5. See A. 10 and 11. 6. See pp. 4 and 6-8. | Check the tightness of all hose connections, also check all hoses, lines, filters and high pressure fuel pump for leaks. Blow out with compressed air. Adjust. Adjust. |
G.The engine misfires while driving. | 1. Loose or defective injectors. | Make sure the injectors are firmly seated in the cylinder head. Replace. |
H. The engine does not turn off. | Faulty solenoid control solenoid shutdown device. | Check solenoid control cut-off device, replace if necessary. |
