- Faulty glow plugs;
- Black smoke from the exhaust system;
- High fuel consumption;
- Engine overheating;
- Loud knock;
- Engine power loss.
Fuel injector faults (Renault 19)
If one injector is faulty, it can be identified on a running engine as follows: unscrew the union nuts of the high-pressure fuel lines on the injectors one by one and tighten them again. If, despite the removed line, the speed remains unchanged, then this is the faulty injector. The failure of the injector can be determined by the following signs:
