1 - Air removal with ARC50
Lock the clutch pedal in the up position with a strap attached to the steering wheel to ensure hydraulic integrity during the bleed operation.
Note: Be careful not to over-adjust the clutch start travel sensor.
Attach the installation of a brake bleeder (approved by Renault) to master cylinder reservoir (see installation instructions).
Remove the plug from the union to remove air from the clutch slave cylinder.
Connect a clear tubing to the bleeder fitting by dropping the other end into an empty vessel above the bleeder bleeder.
Unscrew the air bleed plug.
Open the system between the bleeder and the brake fluid reservoir.
Wait until the brake fluid flows out without bubbles.
Depressurise the hydraulic clutch by turning off the bleeder.
Close the air bleed screw.
Disconnect the transparent tube from the bleed valve.
Place a plug on the bleed valve.
After disconnecting the bleeder, add brake fluid to the master cylinder reservoir to the correct level.
Engage and disengage the clutch quickly about twenty times.
Check clutch operation.
Repeat the bleed operation if necessary.
Check switch adjustment.
2 - Air removal with a new syringe
Lock the clutch pedal in the up position with a strap attached to the steering wheel to ensure hydraulic integrity during the bleed operation.
Note: Be careful not to over-adjust the clutch start travel sensor.
Remove the plug from the union to remove air from the clutch slave cylinder.
Connect the transparent tube to the bleed valve (at least thirty centimeters) so that it takes the same position in height as the tank.
Unscrew the air bleed plug.
Pour brake fluid into the master cylinder reservoir until it flows out of the brake bleeder port.
Note: To prevent air from entering the clutch hydraulic circuit, the transparent pipe must be at the same height as the master cylinder reservoir.
Attach a new hydraulic bleeder with a usable volume of 60 ml of approved brake fluid to the end of the clear tube.
Slowly and completely expel the fluid from the syringe into the hydraulic clutch, making sure that air from the top of the syringe does not enter the system.
Close the air bleed screw.
Disconnect the transparent tube from the bleed valve.
Place a plug on the bleed valve.
Top up the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir.
Engage and disengage the clutch quickly about twenty times.
Check clutch operation.
Repeat the bleed operation if necessary.
Check switch adjustment.
