Attention! Brake fluid used in brake and clutch drives is hygroscopic. It absorbs moisture from the air through the vent in the tank lid and gradually loses its working qualities. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the brake fluid with fresh, which has been stored without contact with the environment. Brake fluid is dangerous to the eyes and can also damage the painted surface of the body, so care must be taken when handling it.
The procedure for changing the brake fluid is the same as when bleeding the brake system (see section «Brake system»).
Replaceable brake fluid from the reserve tank should be pumped out with a rubber bulb. The rest of the brake fluid will be replaced when the procedure is performed.
The sequence and order of work, see subsection «Bleeding the brake system». When changing the brake fluid, make sure that the reserve tank is not completely drained, otherwise air will enter the system. The signal for the end of the fluid change for each of the wheels is the outflow from the fitting for pumping clean, clear fluid.
At the end of the operation, make sure that all fittings on the brake mechanisms are tightened and protective caps are installed on them. Wipe off traces of brake fluid with a clean rag and bring the fluid level in the reserve tank to the mark «MAX». Check the operation of the brakes by running.
Attention! Coolant (antifreeze) It is irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, so if it comes into contact with the body, wash it off with plenty of water. In addition, antifreeze destroys the paintwork of the body. Do not leave antifreeze in an open container to avoid accidents.
