Attention! It is strictly forbidden to replace a blown fuse with wire, foil or similar materials (bugs) in order to avoid failure of units and components of electrical equipment or the occurrence of a fire.
Replacement order:
- de-energize the consumer protected by this fuse;
- install, guided by the table. 8.3, fuse location and open the fuse box cover;
- inspect the fuses. A sign of a blown fuse is the visible melting of the metal jumper;
- use tweezers to remove the blown fuse from the socket;
- install a fuse of the same amperage. Spare fuses are installed in special sockets. The fuse rating is indicated on its body;
- if the fuse blows again, check the electrical circuit from the power source to the consumer.
Fuses are colored in different colors depending on the rated current (A):
- Orange - 5
- Red - 10
- Blue - 15
- Yellow - 20
- Transparent or white - 25
- Green - 20
Relay
Depending on the vehicle configuration, a large number of relays are included in the electrical equipment - electrically controlled switches. Using the relay, you can remotely control electrical circuits with high currents using thin wires and low-current switches on the instrument panel.

Pic. 8.17. Relay location in the block: 1 – the relay of inclusion of antifog headlights; 2 - rear window heating relay; 3 – the relay of indexes of turns; 4 – the relay of raising of glass of a door of the driver; 5 – the relay of lowering of glass of a door of the driver; 6 - relay for turning on side lights; 7 – the relay of inclusion of a passing beam of headlights; 8 - windshield wiper relay; 9 – the relay of a cleaner of back glass; 10 - relay of the central lock (closing); 11 - relay of the central lock (opening); 12 - relay after turning off the ignition
The main relays are installed under the front panel on the left side (pic. 8.16). The purpose of the relay is shown in fig. 8.17.
Some vehicles are equipped with an additional relay box located under the hood on the left side in front of the upper strut mount. The relay of the injection system and power steering are installed in the block.
The best way to test a relay is to substitute a known-good relay, but keep in mind that relays may perform different functions if they look similar, so make sure the relay numbers on the case match.
