Removal and installation the oil level sensor (Renault Megane 1)

Removal

1. On all engines except K7M, the oil level sensor is located on the front of the cylinder block, below the oil filter (refer to the accompanying illustration). On the K7M engine it is located on the rear of the cylinder block, below the manifolds.

2. Set the handbrake, then jack up the front of the car and support it on axle stands.

3. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the sensor.



4a. Unscrew the sensor from the cylinder block.



4b. Remove the sealing washer (refer to the illustrations).

Installation

1. Inspect the sealing washer for signs of damage and replace it if necessary.

2. Install the sensor together with the washer and tighten it securely. Connect the wiring connector.
