- Removal the water pump requires removing the power unit.
- When installing, replace the rubber gaskets of the various tubes and install very carefully, as the gaskets are very fragile.
Removal
- Place the car on a lift.
- Remove the battery
- Remove the engine control unit
- Remove the air intake pipe and air filter
- Remove the upper engine cover
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the throttle body
- Between the two sections of the cylinder block, remove the 4 bolts securing the wire harness support matte. Release the wire harness support from the rear cylinder head side
- Disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the fuel line
- Remove the bolts and fuel line with the pressure regulator
- Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle assembly.
- Remove 4 bolts securing the rod bracket that connects the right swingarm to the intake manifold
- Remove the rigid speed controller vacuum lines.
- Remove the 4 intake manifold mounting bolts and remove it.
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system by disconnecting the lower hose from the radiator.
- Remove the generator.
- Remove the rigid coolant pipe connecting both cylinder heads.
- Remove the rigid coolant line connecting the water pump and both cylinder heads.
- Use a lifting mechanism to lift the engine.
- Remove the right engine mount bracket.
- Install the Renault Mol 1229 device on the generator bracket or support the engine with a jack and disconnect the lifting mechanism clamp
- Remove the right engine mount bracket mounting panel
- Loosen and remove the water pump drive belt
- Connect the bottom hose to the radiator?
- Remove 3 bolts and water pump.
Installation
The water pump is installed in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- observe the tightening torques of threaded connections;
- replace the seals on the rigid pipe connections and lubricate them with coolant beforehand
- replace clamps, seals and self-locking nuts;
- adjust the tension of the water pump drive belt;
- fill with coolant and check the cooling system for leaks
