1. The motor is attached to the fan in the middle with a nut or bolt with a left-hand thread. Loosen the nut as you would a normal nut, then remove the fan from the motor lead screw. The fan motor is usually attached to the casing with bolts. Remove the fan motor.
2. Install the new motor in reverse order. Tighten the nut.
