Each manufacturer recommends using a specific lubricant that was used in the production of the vehicle.
This also applies to Renault, for which reason the lubricant recommended for Renault is used during repairs. "Loctite" is often mentioned. This is a fluid for nut and screw threads, which prevents the tightened connections from coming apart. However, it often happens that other means are used, also intended to preserve the connections. The joints, the clutch release bearing, the lower radial bearings, in the steering and the gear engagement of the drive shafts should be coated with a graphite-containing lubricant.
For these purposes, Renault recommends using lubricant "Molykote BR2" or other graphite lubricant. For sealing joints, use "Perfect Seal" - a special sealing agent.
Brake fluid, antifreeze and power steering fluid must also meet Renault specifications, however, Total, Mobil, Elf fluids can be used for the power steering. Motor oils of suitable viscosity can be used from all manufacturers. Motor oils for turbodiesel engines are intended only for them.
Lubricants are suitable for normal or high temperatures (for example in wheel bearings). Always select the appropriate lubricant.
