Cooling system

malfunction
Its reason
Troubleshooting
A. Temperature sensor arrow (depending on modification) is in the shaded area or the coolant temperature indicator light is on. 1. The V-belt is too tight or broken.
2. Not enough coolant in the cooling system.
3. The temperature sensor wire shorts to ground.
4. The thermostat does not open, coolant does not flow into the radiator (the radiator is cold).
5. The engine cooling fan does not turn on.
6. The pressure reducing valve of the expansion tank cap is faulty.
7. The space between the cooling fins of the radiator is clogged.
Check the V-belt tension or replace the belt.
It is necessary to top up the coolant.
Disconnect the temperature sensor wire, the arrow should return to zero, the coolant temperature indicator lamp should go out. If this does not happen, then check the wire along its entire length.
Replace the thermostat on site or have the car towed to a repair shop.
Cm. Engine cooling fan.
Check the valve, cover gasket, replace the cover completely if necessary, clean the radiator.
B. The temperature gauge needle is creeping up - the engine is heating up very slowly. The thermostat does not close completely, heated coolant enters the radiator too early. Clean the thermostat, replace if necessary.
IN.The temperature gauge needle remains in the lower zone, heating is good. The temperature sensor is faulty. Replace the temperature sensor.
