- Are the hoses on the radiator, engine and heating system sealed?
- Are the hoses cracked? Bending the hoses with your fingers, check if they are stiff and brittle - if so, replace them.
- Are the hoses firmly attached to the fittings?
- Are the clamp bolts on the hose clamps tight?
- Replace corroded hose clamps as they may break under full load during a ride and coolant may leak out.
- In auto repair shops, the tightness of the cooling system is checked using a special manually operated air pump and a pressure gauge.
- A special adapter is put on the expansion tank, which increases the pressure by 1.2 bar.
- If the pressure does not decrease within 2 minutes, the cooling system is sealed.
