Antifreeze additive concentration correction
It often happens that due to the addition of water to the cooling system, the concentration of antifreeze additive decreases. In this case, you need to add antifreeze additives. Approximately 3/4 liters per eye is needed to lower the freezing point by 10°C. It is best to fill in a coolant containing 50% antifreeze additive even in summer. This will avoid changing the antifreeze properties of the coolant. If you still need to improve antifreeze properties, then:
1. Place a clean container under the radiator.
2. Loosen drain screw or remove lower radiator hose to allow coolant to flow.
3. Drain 1-2 liters of coolant.
4. Put on the hose or tighten the drain screw.
5. Pour the required amount of antifreeze additive into the expansion tank and fill to the required level with the previously drained coolant.
Note. Recommendation: If the coolant contains more than 60% antifreeze, its freezing point rises again.
Antifreeze additive loses its properties if stored in an open container. In addition, it contains components harmful to health, which, if in contact with the skin for a long time, can cause damage. Therefore, the antifreeze additive must be stored in a closed container and out of the reach of children.
