When replacing brake pads, be sure to replace the brake pads on the opposite side.
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Unlock the steering wheel.
Remove the front wheels.
Loosen the bottom bolt (1) fixing the guide pin while holding the nut (2).
Rotate the front brake caliper up.
Remove the front brake pads.
Remove the noise reduction plates (5).
Installation
Check the thickness of the front brake pads.
Clean with a wire brush and brake cleaner:
- guide pads of the front brake mechanism,
- front brake calipers,
- brake discs.
Move the piston all the way inside the cylinder (pre-applied to it with grease from the repair kit) using a device (1).
Parts to be replaced: front brake caliper guide pin bolt.
Noise-reducing plates must be replaced.
Install noise reduction plates.
Install the brake pads, starting with the inner pad.
Rotate the brake caliper down to return to its original position.
Install a new guide pin bolt.
Torque tighten the guide pin mounting bolt (34 Nm).
Install the front wheels.
