Tightening torques, Nm
- Wheel bolts 90.
- Hub nut 175.

1 - Upper coupling spring;
2 - Lower return spring (for pressing the support heels of the pads to the base plate);
3 - Side lock pads;
4 - Return spring of the expanding lever.
Removing
Attention! Brake pads must be replaced completely, it is unacceptable to install pads from different manufacturers or of different quality at the same time.
1. Remove the brake drum.
2. Remove lower return spring 2 using return spring pliers.
3. Using adjustable pliers, remove the side retainer springs for the shoes.
4. Slowly slide the shoe heels out of the fixed base plate.
5. Bring the heels of the shoes together to take the toes of the shoes away from the ends of the working cylinder.
6. Disconnect the assembly (automatic wear compensation device and pads) from the brake shield, then remove it after releasing the brake cable from the holder.
Installation
1. Install the sub-assembly on the vehicle.
2. Install the brake cable on the expander lever.
3. Bring the heels of the pads together, and install the socks on the pistons of the working cylinder.
Attention! Do not damage the dust covers.
4. Place the shoe heels on the fixed base plate C.
5. Install side clips 3.
6. Remove clips from pistons of working cylinders.
7. Install lower return spring 2.
Adjustment
1. Using a screwdriver, adjust the diameter of the brake lining circle using the ratchet wheel of the automatic wear compensation device.
2. Install the drums without tightening the fastening nuts.
3. Center the position of the pads by repeatedly depressing the brake pedal (about 20 times).
4. Check the correct operation of the automatic wear compensation device (by a characteristic click inside the drum).
5. Remove drums.
6. Make sure the brake cables slide freely.
7. Ensure that the expansion levers L of the brake pads are touching correctly.
8. Gradually tighten the cables on the adjusting unit so that the expansion levers L begin to move between the first and second clicks of the parking brake lever stroke and remain pressed from the second click.
9. Secure the adjuster locknut.
10. Install the brake drums and tighten the fastening nuts with a torque of 175 Nm.
11. Install hub caps.
