Tightening torques, Nm
- Wheel mounting bolts 90.
- Bolt for fastening the guide pin of the floating brake caliper 40.
- Floating bracket mounting bolt 100.
Removal
1. Install the pressure device on the brake pedal (reduces the volume of leaking liquid).
2. Disconnect the brake pipe from the working cylinder.
3. Remove the brake pads (see previous page).
4. Unscrew the two bolts securing the bracket to the steering knuckle.
5. Completely disconnect the brake pipe by rotating the bracket.
6. Check the condition of the brake pipe and replace it if necessary.
Installation
1. Install the tube onto the brake caliper.
2. Remove the pressure device from the brake pedal.
3. To check the correct operation of the brake caliper slave cylinder, loosen the air release valve and allow the brake fluid to drain.
4. Tighten the air release valve.
5. Install the bracket on the steering knuckle and tighten the mounting bolts to the required torque.
6. Install the pads and slave cylinder (follow the instructions given above).
Repair
Note: If there are scratches on the cylinder mirror, the bracket must be replaced entirely.
To do this you need:
- remove brake caliper;
- remove dust cover;
- remove the piston using a jet of compressed air, inserting a wooden block between the bracket and the piston to prevent damage to the piston: damage to the piston skirt makes it unusable;
- remove the sealing ring from the groove in the bracket using a soft strip with rounded edges (for example, a feeler gauge);
- clean parts with denatured alcohol;
- replace the defective parts with original spare parts and then install the sealing ring, piston and dust cover.
