Note: See warning at end Chapters 1. To perform the test, you will need a suitable pressure gauge and a T-connector.

1. Depressurize the fuel system as described in Chapter 7.

2. Using a T-connector, connect the pressure gauge (measurement range 0-6 bar) to the fuel line of the injectors (see illustration).

8.2. Checking the pressure in the fuel system.1 - T-shaped connector.

8.2. Checking the pressure in the fuel system.1 - T-shaped connector.

3. Turn on the fuel pump by short-circuiting terminals 3 and 5 of the relay (installed in the block in front of the upper support of the left suspension strut).

4. Note the pressure on the pressure gauge. It must correspond to the regulated fuel pressure (see Specifications).

5. If you have a vacuum pump and pressure gauge, disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator. Apply a vacuum of approximately 500 millibars to the pressure regulator and check that the fuel pressure drops by the same amount.

6. If the pressure is low, check the pump performance. If the pressure is high, the fault may only be in the pressure regulator.

7. Remove the jumper from the relay. Depressurize the fuel system and disconnect the pressure gauge, then restore the broken connections.
