Take a drive in the car, during which check the reliability of the engine starter, the ability of the car to quickly accelerate when changing gears, the absence of extraneous noises when the engine, clutch and gearbox are running.
Make sure that the engine runs smoothly at idle and does not smoke when it reaches operating temperature.
When driving on a flat horizontal road, the car should "hold the road", i.e. not have a tendency to go to the right or left.
When driving over uneven surfaces, no extraneous knocking sounds should be heard in the suspension.
Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and, while driving at low speed, check for clicking metallic sounds that indicate wear on the front drive shaft joints. Perform the same check while driving in a circle to the left.
If the car is equipped with an automatic transmission, check the ease of moving the selector lever to all available positions while parked and the engine running. Acceleration on the road should be smooth, without jerks or increases in speed when changing gears.
Check the operation of the control devices; make sure their statements are accurate.
