Warning! Coolant (antifreeze) has an irritating effect on the skin and mucous membranes, so if it gets on your body, wash it off with plenty of water. In addition, antifreeze destroys the paintwork of the car body. Do not leave antifreeze in an open container to avoid accidents.
When replacing antifreeze, it is necessary to flush the radiator and engine with running water to remove rust and harmful deposits that impair engine cooling.
These operations are described in detail in the subsection "Cooling system".
