- place the car on a lift or lift the front of the car, place supports under the body;
- disconnect the negative battery cable;
- remove the right front wheel and mudguard;
- remove the radiator grille;

- remove the upper cross member by unscrewing the two lower mounting bolts and place it on the engine (Fig. 8.2);
- remove the protective cover of the fuel distribution rail;
- remove the right headlight;
- remove the accessory drive belt (see section "Car maintenance");
- remove the power steering pump pulley;
- remove the fuel supply pipe from the fuel rail using tool Mot. 1311-06 and disconnect the injector connector (Fig. 8.3);

- loosen the bolts securing the power steering pump to the bracket;
- remove the bolt securing the power steering line to the multi-function bracket;
- unscrew the generator mounting bolts, moving the power steering pump to the side.

The generator is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the alternator drive belt.
