- disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 5 minutes for the control unit capacitors to discharge and the system to deactivate;
- remove the two TORX head screws securing the cushion underneath the steering wheel by turning it to access the screws;

- set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position, carefully remove the module from the steering wheel by disconnecting the wiring connector from the bottom of the unit (Fig. 8.66). Note that the cushion must not be hit or dropped, it must be stored with the lid facing up.
Installation procedure:
- correctly connect the contact connector and install the module in the middle of the steering wheel without pinching the wiring. Screw in the mounting screws and tighten them to the specified torque;
- make sure there is no one inside the car and connect the battery. Open the driver's side door, turn on the ignition from outside the car and make sure the indicator light in the instrument cluster comes on.
