Removal
Before removing the airbag, block all ignition circuits of the airbag pyrotechnic elements as follows:
- connect the XR25 portable diagnostic tool to the vehicle;
- turn on the ignition;
- set the ISO switch to S8 and enter code D49;
- use the XR25 device to block the control unit and enter command G 80*; When this function is engaged, all ignition circuits are blocked, the airbag warning lamp in the instrument cluster and the left barograph 14 of the XR25 are illuminated (new control units are delivered in a locked state);
- wait two seconds until the control unit automatically discharges;
- turn off the ignition.
On the back of the steering wheel, remove the two screws, lift up the airbag, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the driver's airbag from the center of the steering wheel. Place the pillow in a safe place with the bag facing up.
Installation
- Connect the electrical connector to the airbag.
- Install the airbag at the center of the steering wheel and secure with two screws.
- Turn on the ignition.
- Use the XR25 to check for any faults in the security system. If everything is in order, unlock the computer using the G 81* command. Make sure that the left barograph 14 of the XR25 is not illuminated
