General information
This system includes electric drives for the driver's seat and outside rear-view mirrors with position memory. The passenger seat is electrically operated without position memory.
The driver has two options:
- adjust the position of the driver's seat and outside rear-view mirrors as desired. These adjustments are made in manual mode;
- install and return the driver's seat and outside rear-view mirrors to the desired position in one motion. These adjustments are made in automatic control mode.
Three ECUs constantly control the position of the adjustable elements, for this they analyze the driver's commands and control the electric motors:
- driver's seat drive (The ECU is located under the driver's seat);
- external rear-view mirror drive (The ECU is built into the electric motor of each multiplexed impulse window).
Note. To remember the adjustments of the driver's seat, with the «+» consumers of electricity, use the control panel to adjust the position of the seat in three ways and the position of the outside rear-view mirrors in the horizontal and vertical planes. Then click on the button «memory» (long press) to record positions. If a Renault card is inserted into the reader, the adjustment parameters will be stored in memory. Memorization is confirmed by an audible signal coming from the instrument panel.
Note. There is no on/off button on the seat control panel.
CEKB
Each time the door release is activated via the RF remote control and each time it is switched on «+• electricity consumers, the UEC checks the Renault card number.
When the driver's door is opened, it transmits the card number via wired communication in order to determine the adjustments. that need to be restored.
Seat computer
It is located under the driver's seat (fixed to the front of the frame).
Depending on the activation method, the computer is in standby mode:
- in a passive state;
- in working mode (active).
The ECU changes from passive to active state when receiving the following signals:
- enable signal «+» electricity consumers;
- signal to open the driver's door;
- remote control signal from Renault card.
The ECU goes into standby mode approximately 40 minutes after the ignition is turned off, if the driver's door has not been opened during this time. When the door is opened, the ECU immediately returns to the active state.
The seat does not need to be removed to remove the ECU.
Door modules for storing information about the position of the outside rear-view mirrors. Both power window motors must be equipped with an ECU for the driver's position memory function.
Note. The exchange of data on the adjustments of the driver's seat is carried out between the front door modules via a special multiplex network.
Seat
Seat drive includes three electric motors (for three-way adjustment):
- movement in the longitudinal direction (along the guides) 1;
- cushion height change 2;
- reclining backrest 3.
To transmit motion, each electric motor is equipped with a flexible shaft and a gearbox. Position sensors are also built into the motors (one for each setting).
Control Panel
The control panel is installed on the outer side trim of the driver's seat, the panel contains:
- adjustment switch «seat cushions» A - for adjusting the seat in the longitudinal direction and in height.
- adjustment switch «seat back» B - to adjust the backrest.
- Button «memory» C to memorize or recall driver's seat adjustments (driver's seat and exterior mirrors).
This button is used when long pressing (2 s) to memorize the driver's seat adjustments. Storing is confirmed by an audible signal when briefly pressed to recall the settings of the driver's seat from memory.
Note. Pressing any button while the adjustment is being restored will stop movement of the seat and exterior mirrors.
Note. Memory settings cannot be recalled while the vehicle is moving.
If memory adjustments are recalled with the outside rear-view mirrors folded in, the mirror adjustment motors are only activated when the mirrors are in the working position.
Removing
The control panel is fixed with three metal clips D on the cover of the seat slide. To remove it, you must alternately press the clips, sticking your hand between the seat cushion and the slide cover.
Disconnect the connector by depressing the spring clips.
