- disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 5 minutes to allow the control unit capacitors to discharge and the system to deactivate;
- remove the top part of the front panel (see section "Body");

- disconnect the central lock on the connector (Fig. 8.67) and disconnect it from the airbag module;

- unscrew the six screws securing the airbag module and remove it (Fig. 8.68).
Installation procedure:
- place the cushion in its place and screw in the mounting screws securely. Attach the wiring connector, laying it out correctly, and secure the retainer;
- install the upper part of the instrument panel as described in the section "Body";
- make sure there is no one inside the car and connect the battery. Open the driver's side door, turn on the ignition from outside the car and make sure the indicator light in the instrument cluster comes on.
