Withdrawal procedure:
- turn on reverse gear (or set the selector lever to position «R»);
- raise the rear of the car and install safety stops under the body;
- remove the wheel from the desired side;
- remove the brake drum;

- remove the bearing circlip from the brake drum (pic. 5.16);

- using a suitable cylindrical mandrel, press the bearing out of the hub (pic. 5.17);
- thoroughly clean the hub from grease and dirt, remove possible nicks and burrs with a needle file. Inspect the hub for cracks or other damage.
The bearing and retaining ring are replaced with new ones.
Installation order:
- make sure (if it is possible) the presence of grease in the inner cavity of the bearing, lightly lubricate the surface of the bearing rings with grease;
- using a mandrel, press the bearing into the hub, applying force to the outer ring, until it stops against the shoulder of the brake drum;
- install a new retaining ring;
- install a brake drum on a pre-lubricated hub axle;
- install a new lock nut and tighten it to the specified torque;
- perform other operations in the reverse order of removal;
- press the brake pedal several times, adjusting the position of the brake pads;
- make sure the wheel rotates easily without any binding.
