Removal



Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.

Remove the intake manifold.

Caution: Beware of gasoline emissions when disconnecting the fuel supply line from the fuel rail.

Disconnect the wire blocks from the injectors, turn the wire harness aside and unscrew the fuel rail mounting bolts (fig. 2.205).

Remove the fuel rail by carefully pulling it towards you.

Loosen the bolts securing the injector housing lining (fig. 2.206).

Installation



The injector housing lining gasket must be replaced.

Install all mounting bolts.

Please attach:
  • the lining of the injector housings to the upper timing drive cover, tightening bolt A by hand.
  • the lining of the injector housings to the engine pendulum mount support, tightening bolt B by hand.

Tighten in the order shown in Figure 2.207 to the required torque:
  • bolts 5 and 6 for fastening the injector housing lining (25 Nm);
  • bolts 7 and 14 for fastening the injector housing lining (21 Nm).

Tighten to the specified torque:
  • pendulum support mounting bolt (44 Nm);
  • timing belt upper cover mounting bolt (44 Nm).

Install the intake manifold.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
