Only the front and rear towing eye sockets may be used for towing the vehicle (it is strictly forbidden to use other parts of the car for fastening) (fig. 1.117). The eyes are for towing purposes only; never use them directly or indirectly to lift a vehicle.

Remove the covers (fig. 1.118).
Screw the towing eye in until it stops: first by hand until it stops, and then tighten it further with the wheel brace.
The towing eye and wheel brace are located in the tool kit under the luggage compartment carpet.
Towing procedure
Before towing, make sure the steering column is unlocked.

Otherwise, insert the Renault card into the reader and hold down the engine start button ("start/stop"), without pressing the pedals. The column will unlock and power will begin to flow to the vehicle's auxiliary equipment.
After towing is complete, press the engine start button twice ("start/stop") to avoid discharging the battery.
Towing a car with an automatic transmission
When the engine is off, the automatic transmission lubrication system does not work, so the car should be transported on the flatbed of a tow truck or towed with the front wheels raised.
In exceptional cases, a vehicle may be towed using a towing eye for a distance of no more than 50 km.
Caution: If the selector is locked in position P, it can be released manually while the brake pedal is depressed.
To do this, detach the top part of the cover at the base of the lever.
Simultaneously press the place indicated by the mark on the cover and the release button on the lever.
