Removing
1. Remove the clutch pedal as described in Section Checking the stroke, removing and installing the clutch pedal and tie a piece of twine to the end of the clutch cable.
2. On all engines except E7J, remove the air filter assembly and air ducts (contact the head Power and exhaust systems).
3. Having unhooked a cable, separate its casing from an arm on transmission. Moving along the cable, release it from the mounting brackets and ties.
4. Release the tip of the clutch cable from the bulkhead and remove the cable from the vehicle. When the end of the cable appears, untie the twine from it and leave it hanging in the bulkhead - it will help to pull the cable into its working position during installation.
5. Inspect the cable, checking for any worn lugs, casing, or cable itself. Make sure that the cable moves easily and without jerks in the casing. Replace cable if worn or damaged.
Installation
6. Bring the cable to its working position, laying it in its original place, and using twine, pull the end of the cable through the bulkhead into the cabin. Attach the end of the cable to the bulkhead.
7. Secure the cable in working position with all cleats and zip ties and place the end of the cable housing facing the transmission into the mounting bracket.
8. Install the clutch pedal and check the operation of the automatic regulator as described in Section Checking the stroke, removing and installing the clutch pedal.
9. Install the air filter assembly and air ducts.
