Removing
Drain the gearbox oil.
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove the engine undertray and left front wheel.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the wheel speed sensor.
Loosen the hub nut using the tool (Rou. 604-01), the tie rod pin nut and the upper ball joint pin nut of the anti-roll bar.
Loosen the bottom tie rod nut.
Compress the suspension about 10 cm. Remove the ball joint of the suspension arm.
Loosen the steering knuckle mounting bolts.
Unload the suspension by raising the lift 50 cm. Remove the subframe reinforcing bar.
Separate the steering knuckle from the support with hammer blows.
Remove the seal and cut the hatch at the points shown by the arrow in the figure.
Remove the plastic rivets from the sunroof cover.
Loosen the suspension strut mounting bolt.
Instead of a bolt, screw in an M8x30 bolt so that the head does not protrude by 20 mm.
Remove the suspension strut mounting bolts.
Slide the knot aside «suspension strut - spring - steering knuckle» assembled.
Remove the wheel drive shaft from the hub.
Disconnect the wheel drive shaft from the gearbox.
Installation
Without removing the protective cover, apply MOLYKOTE 8R2 grease to the splines of the inboard joint shank.
Insert the splined shank of the inner shaft joint into the side gear.
Connect the wheel drive shaft to the hub.
The shaft shank must freely enter the gear for a length sufficient to wrap the hub nut.
The installation is in order. reverse withdrawal.
Insert the mounting tab into the socket.
Fill the gearbox with oil and top up the level.
Torque tighten:
- suspension strut mounting bolts (21 Nm);
- bolts of fastening of a rotary fist to a support (72 Nm);
- nut of fastening of a finger of a spherical support of the suspension arm (100 Nm);
- brake caliper guide bolts (170 Nm);
- the nut of fastening the pin of the ball joint of the stabilizer bar (44 Nm);
- nut of fastening of a finger of a ball joint of a tip of steering draft (37 Nm);
- hub nut (280 Nm);
- wheel bolts (130 Nm).
