Removing
Attention! Since cooling systems are designed to operate under pressure, beware of severe burns from hot liquid ejection.
Do not remove the expansion tank cap on a hot engine. When working in the engine compartment, beware of the unexpected activation of the fan (fans) engine cooling systems.
Do not open the bleeder plug or plugs while the engine is running.
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery. Remove:
- expansion tank plug;
- engine undertray protection.
Drain the liquid from the engine cooling system.
Flush the engine cooling system.
Disconnect the generator harness 1 from the holder on the water pump inlet pipe.
Remove with tool (Mot. 1448):
- hose clamp 2.
- hose clamp 3.
Remove with tool (Sag. 1363):
- hose 2.
- flexible pipe 3.
Remove:
- fastening bolt 4 of the water pump inlet pipe.
- water pump inlet pipe 5.
Installation
Attention! Be sure to replace the seal.
Install the O-ring on the water pump inlet pipe
Moisten the water pump inlet pipe with soapy water.
Install:
- water pump inlet pipe;
- a bolt of fastening of the bringing pipeline of the water pump;
- hose 2;
- hose 3.
Install with tool (Mot. 1448):
- hose clamp 2.
- hose clamp 3.
Attach the alternator harness to the holder on the water pump inlet line.
Fill the engine cooling system with liquid. Install:
- engine undertray protection.
- expansion tank plug.
Connect the battery.
Remove air from the cooling system.
