Removal
Caution: Since cooling systems are designed to operate under pressure, beware of severe burns from escaping hot fluid.
Do not remove the expansion tank cap when the engine is hot. When working in the engine compartment, beware of the fan turning on unexpectedly (fans) engine cooling systems.
Do not open the air bleed plug or plugs while the engine is running.
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
Disconnect the battery. Remove:
- expansion tank cap;
- protection of the engine oil pan.
Drain the fluid from the engine cooling system.
Flush the engine cooling system.
Disconnect the generator wiring harness 1 from the holder on the water pump inlet pipe.
Remove using tool (Mot. 1448):
- hose clamp 2.
- hose clamp 3.
Remove using the tool (Cag. 1363):
- hose 2.
- flexible pipeline 3.
Remove:
- bolt for fastening 4 of the water pump supply pipe.
- water pump supply line 5.
Installation
Attention! Be sure to replace the sealing gasket.
Install the sealing ring onto the water pump inlet pipe
Wet the water pump inlet line with soapy water.
Install:
- water pump supply line;
- water pump inlet pipe mounting bolt;
- hose 2;
- hose 3.
Install using tool (Mot. 1448):
- hose clamp 2.
- hose clamp 3.
Attach the alternator wire harness to the retainer on the water pump inlet line.
Fill the engine cooling system with fluid. Install:
- protection of the engine oil pan.
- expansion tank cap.
Connect the battery.
Bleed the cooling system.
