Attention! Because cooling systems are designed to operate under pressure, beware of severe burns from hot liquid ejection.
Attention! Never remove the expansion tank cap when the engine is hot. When working in the engine compartment, beware of the sudden activation of the electric fan or electric fans of the engine cooling system. Do not open the bleeder plug or plugs while the engine is running.
Attention! In the event of fluid leakage through the expansion tank plug valve, the valve must be replaced.
Attention! Coolant contributes to the normal operation of the engine (provides heat exchange).
Attention! It is forbidden to pour water into the system.
Attention! When performing work requiring complete draining of the cooling system, be sure to flush the system with clean water, blow it with compressed air to remove residual water, charge the system with coolant, bleed the system, and then measure its actual frost resistance.
The system must provide frost resistance:
- at temperatures up to - 25°C±2 for countries with a cold and temperate climate;
- at temperatures down to -40°С±2 for countries with a very cold climate.
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Disconnect at points 1 the protection and switching unit.
Move the Protection and Switching Unit aside.
Remove the air filter housing.
Install clips on:
- inlet hose 2 expansion tanks;
- outlet hose 3 expansion tank.
Disconnect:
- bottle inlet hose 2 with tool (Mot. 1448).
- outlet hose 3 bottle with tool (Mot. 1448);
- block of wires 4 from the coolant level sensor.
Turn away a bolt of fastening 5 of a broad tank.
Move aside arrows 6.
Pull in the direction of the arrow 7. to remove the expansion tank.
Remove the expansion tank.
Installation
