Remove the valve lifters, keeping their original installation position.
Compress the valve springs with a valve lifter tool (Mot. 1502) and valve lifters (Mot. 1849) (3).
Remove:
- crackers with tweezers (4);
- valve spring plates;
- valve springs;
- valves, respecting their mutual position.
Note. Before removing the oil seals, be sure to check the size (H) installation of old caps inlet, then exhaust valves (since the distance of the caps to be pressed on can be different for intake and exhaust valves).
Install one of the valves and measure the installation dimension (H) old valve stem seal using the valve stem seal installer (Mot. 1511).
Set the mandrel (5) valve stem seal fittings (Mot. 1511) on the valve stem seal.
Note. The inner diameter of the mandrel must match the diameter of the valve stem. In addition, the lower part of the mandrel must be put on the upper metal part of the oil cap.
Set the jig (6) over the mandrel until it stops against the cylinder head.
Insert sleeve (7) into the conductor until it comes into contact with the mandrel. Fix the bushing with a screw (8).
Remove the coupling from the conductor without loosening the screw.
Remove the valves and slinger caps with valve slinger pliers (Mot. 1335) (9).
Attention. Oil seals must be replaced.
Clear:
- valves;
- valve springs;
- valve spring plates;
- valve crackers;
- valve guides.
Apply engine oil to the inside of the valve guide.
install valve (10) into the cylinder head.
Note.
- Protective sleeve diameter (11) must be equal to the diameter of the valve stem.
- Do not lubricate the oil seal before installation.
Install protective sleeve (11) slinger cap using a tool for installing slinger valve caps (Mot. 1511) on the valve. Keep the valve pressed against the seat.
Install valve stem seal (12) (not lubricated) on the protective mounting sleeve.
Slide the oil seal until it passes over the mounting protective sleeve.
Remove the protective sleeve.
Install the jig assembly with the sleeve, which were previously adjusted on the oil seal when removing the valve.
Replace the baffle cap by tapping the top of the coupling with the palm of your hand until the jig comes into contact with the cylinder head.
Perform the indicated operations on the other inlet and outlet valves.
Install:
- valve springs (green intake valve springs and purple exhaust valve springs);
- upper valve springs.
Compress the valve springs with tools (Mot. 1502) And (Mot. 1849).
Set the crackers with tweezers.
Set the valve lifters to the position marked during removal.
