Loosen the camshaft housing mounting bolts.

Separate the camshaft housing using the housing separator with silicone seals (Mot. 1716) (3). Remove the camshaft housing (4).

Remove the camshafts (5) and rocker arm shafts.

Remove the camshafts (5) and rocker arm shafts.


Clean the mating surfaces of the camshaft housing with solvent.



Remove any residue with a plastic spatula.

Finish cleaning the mating surfaces with a mating wheel.

Install the camshafts with the tabs (7) facing up.

Apply a bead of 4 mm (8) diameter silicone sealant gasket around the perimeter of the mating surface of the camshaft housing and spark plug wells.

Install the camshaft housing and its mounting bolts.

Pre-tighten to the specified torque in the order shown:
  • first pre-tightening 2 Nm;
  • second pre-tightening 6 Nm.

Tighten the mounting bolts to the final torque in the specified order 10 Nm.
