Loosen the bolt (3) of the terminal connection of the cardan joint of the steering shaft.
Install the steering wheel lock.
Remove the cardan joint fork.
Mark the position of the cap on the brake hose bracket with a felt-tip pen.
Disconnect:
- cap (4) of the brake hose bracket;
- ABS wire harness (5) brake hose bracket.

Loosen the nut (6) securing the ball joint pin of the steering rod. Remove the ball joint pin of the steering rod end using a puller (Tav. 476).
Loosen the nut (7) securing the anti-roll bar strut to the shock absorber strut.
Unscrew the bolt (8) securing the connecting rod to the crossmember to install the radiator.

Loosen the nut securing the ball joint pin of the suspension arm (9). Disconnect the ball joint of the suspension arm from the steering knuckle.
Remove the mounting bolts (1) and the lower reaction rod.
Loosen the bolt (11) securing the exhaust pipe to the subframe silent block.
Disconnect the downstream oxygen sensor harness from the subframe. Place a hydraulic jack under the subframe.
Remove:
- rear subframe mounting bolts (13);
- bolts for fastening the rear cross member (14) to the subframe;
- rear crossmember from the subframe. Secure the subframe to the hydraulic jack with straps.
Remove the front mounting bolts (15) and the subframe.

Disassembling the subframe
Remove the steering gear (see the corresponding operation).
Remove the headlight range control body height sensor (if installed).
Remove the bolt securing the silent block (17) to the subframe and the silent block.

Degrease the mating surfaces of the body, subframe and crossmember using a cleaner.
Check for the presence of the upper mounting washer (15) on the subframe before installing the bolt.
Replace:
- steering shaft cardan joint fork terminal bolt;
- ball joint pin mounting nut steering tip tie rod nut;
- ball joint nut of the front suspension arm;
- subframe mounting bolt.
Install the crossmember tie rods to mount the radiator on the subframe.
Install the subframe using a jack.
Install the rear subframe cross member.
Tighten to the specified torque:
- front subframe mounting bolts 105 Nm;
- rear subframe mounting bolts 180 Nm;
- rear cross member mounting bolts 62 Nm;
- lower suspension arm ball joint mounting nuts 62 Nm;
- nuts for fastening pins of ball joints of steering rod ends 37 Nm;
- cardan joint mounting bolt 62 Nm.
