2. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on axle stands. Remove the corresponding wheel.
3. Jack up the rear axle until you see that the shock absorbers are compressed.
4. Loosen the nuts (A) And (IN) (see illustration), knock out the bolts and remove the shock absorber.

5. If a new shock absorber is to be installed, clamp it vertically in a vise and pump it to bring it into working condition. In the same way, check the removed shock absorber for the possibility of further use.
6. Install in reverse order. Tighten the fasteners when the vehicle is back on the ground. Tightening torques see illustration 22.1 (the tightening torques of the upper and lower fasteners are different).
