Ignition coil contacts
1 - "+" terminal; 2 - "+" terminal for noise suppression capacitor; 3 - "–" terminal; 4 - high voltage contact.
How the ignition coil works is described at the beginning of the chapter.
- It receives the initial electric current at the "+" terminal (yellow cable).
- Through the primary winding of the ignition coil, voltage comes from its terminal (black cable) to the mass.
- The secondary ignition system voltage of at least 30,000 V (30 kV) is transmitted via the high tension wire from the ignition coil directly to the ignition distributor and from there to the cylinders.
