Note: The EGR solenoid valve is pressed into the EGR unit.
Removing
Remove the air filter housing.
Disconnect connector (1) EGR solenoid valve.
Remove:
- bolts (2) fixings for the EGR solenoid valve,
- exhaust gas recirculation solenoid valve,
- EGR solenoid valve gasket.
Note: Use a tool to separate the EGR solenoid valves locked in the gearbox side EGR cooler brackets.
Remove:
- bracket bolt (3) from the air filter housing
- lug for securing the air filter housing.
Insert tabs (4) fixtures in the holes of the EGR solenoid valve bracket.
Unlock the EGR solenoid valve by turning it around its axis using the tool.
Install:
- foot for attaching the air filter housing,
- bolt to the air filter bracket.
Installation
Parts to be replaced: EGR solenoid valve gasket.
With gray matting swabs, clean:
- the mating surface of the EGR solenoid valve in case of reuse,
- mating surface of the exhaust gas cooler bracket on the gearbox side.
Wipe with surface cleaner:
- the mating surface of the EGR solenoid valve in case of reuse,
- mating surface of the exhaust gas cooler bracket on the gearbox side.
Attention! Bonded surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil to ensure sealing (don't touch them with your fingers).
Install the EGR solenoid valve with a new gasket.
Torque tighten the EGR solenoid valve mounting bolts (10 Nm).
Connect the EGR solenoid valve connector.
Install the air filter housing.
