Caution: Before removing, purchase a new toothed ring.
The toothed ring is installed with a press fit on the outer CV joint. The ring is replaced if its teeth are chipped.
Removal procedure:
- remove the drive shaft of the corresponding wheel;
- use a powerful puller or press to remove the ring from the outer CV joint.
Installation procedure:
- clean the mating surfaces of the ring and CV joint;
- apply anaerobic sealant to the inside of the ring;
- carefully, without distortion, press the ring onto the CV joint;
- install the front wheel drive shaft and check the gap between the sensor and the wheel as described above.
