The components of the rear bumper are shown in Fig. 9.11.

Removal procedure:
  • disconnect the negative battery cable;
  • for ease of operation, place the vehicle on a lift or lift its rear end and place supports under the body. Remove the rear wheels;

  • remove the mudguards in the rear wheel arches by unscrewing the three fastening elements (Fig. 9.12);

  • unscrew the side bumper mounting bolts and the lower bumper mounting bolts (Fig. 9.13);

  • detach the bumper corner and tilt it down (Fig. 9.14);

  • protect the rear wing paintwork from damage with a cloth or adhesive tape and use a flat-head screwdriver to release the clips (Fig. 9.15);

  • disconnect the license plate light connector and remove the light (Fig. 9.16);

  • remove the two holders (Fig. 9.17) and detach the rear bumper with the help of an assistant.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
