Removing
1. Mark with paint the position of the right front wheel on the hub. This will allow the assembly to set the balanced wheel in its original position.
2. Loosen the wheel bolts. In this case, the car must be on the ground.
3. Install the front of the car on the goats and remove the front wheel.
4. Remove the fender liner of the front right mudguard, see the relevant chapter.
5. Unscrew bolts of fastening of 1 pump of the hydraulic booster of a steering (see illustration).
13.5 Remove the bolts securing 1 power steering pump
6. Unscrew the nut 2 screws of the V-belt tension and loosen the tension of the power steering V-belt (see illustration 13.5).
7. Remove the power steering V-belt from the pulleys.
8. Unscrew clamping nut 3 and nut 4 of the generator support (see illustration).
13.8 Unscrew clamping nut 3 and nut 4 of the generator support
9. Feed the generator to the engine and thereby loosen the tension of the V-belt.
10. Remove the alternator drive V-belt from the pulleys.
Installation
11. Check the condition of the V-belt before installing it. If there are fringes, cracks or breaks on the sidewalls of the belt, then the belt must be replaced with a new one.
12. Lay the alternator drive belt on the belt pulleys.
13. Press the alternator away from the engine and tension the belt.
14. Place the power steering pump drive belt on the belt pulleys.
15. Tighten the adjusting nut on the tension roller and thereby tension the belt.
16. Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts.
Checking the tension of the V-belt
17. Check the tension of the V-belt. The alternator drive belt is checked at point 2, and the power steering pump belt is checked at point 3 (see illustration).
- A - belt pulley on the crankshaft;
- B = alternator drive belt pulley;
- C - belt pulley of the power steering pump.
13.17 Check the V-belt tension. The alternator drive belt is checked at point 2, and the power steering pump belt is checked at point 3
In workshops, the RENAULT Mot. is used to check the V-belt tension. 1273, which is also used to check the tension of the toothed belt. The nominal value of the belt tension is 84±6 units.
Attention! When checking an already run-in V-belt, its tension must be increased if it is less than 52 units.
In the absence of the indicated measuring device, the check of the V-belt tension is carried out at the points indicated in Illustration 13.17 by pressing the belt and measuring the amount of deflection. The nominal deflection should be about 3 mm.
Attention! When installing a new V-belt, check its tension after approximately 10 minutes of engine operation.
18. Establish a fender liner on a mudguard of the right wheel, the corresponding chapter see.
19. Establish a forward wheel according to the marks put at removal. Before doing this, lubricate the wheel disc seat on the hub with a thin layer of bearing grease. Do not lubricate the threads of the wheel bolts. Bolt the wheel and lower the car.
20. Tighten the wheel bolts in a cross pattern to 90 Nm.
