2. Warm up the engine after driving for some distance. Once the coolant has reached operating temperature, continue driving for approximately 5 km to ensure that the oil temperature is sufficient to approximately +80°C.
3. Disconnect the power wire from the oil pressure sensor and unscrew the sensor (see illustration). The illustration shows a 1.4-/1.6-liter petrol engine (E7J/K7M). On other engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the left side of the oil filter or next to the oil filter.
17.3 Disconnect the power cable from the oil pressure sensor and unscrew the sensor
4. Connect an appropriate pressure gauge instead of the oil pressure sensor.
5. Start the engine and let it run at the speed appropriate for the test mode. Read the pressure gauge.
1.4-/1.6 liter petrol engine (E7J/K7M)
Minimum oil pressure: at idle - 1.0 bar; at 3000 rpm - 3.0 bar.
2.0 liter petrol engine, 1.9 liter diesel engine
Minimum oil pressure: at idle - 1.2 bar; at 3000 rpm - 3.5 bar.
6. Screw the oil pressure switch into place, replacing the old O-ring with a new one. The tightening torque of the sensor is 35 Nm.
