Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Raise the car until the wheels are a few centimeters off the floor.

Connect the diagnostic tool (CLIP).

Enter into dialogue with the automatic transmission ECU.

Monitor the oil temperature parameter in the automatic transmission.

The test should be carried out at an oil temperature of 60-80°C.

Start the engine, move the selector lever to position D.

Monitor engine speed. Enter the dialogue mode with the ECU.

While keeping the brake pedal depressed, press the accelerator pedal all the way down.

The front wheels should not rotate.

Warning! Do not hold the accelerator pedal pressed until / until more than 5 sec. If this period of time is exceeded, the torque converter or the automatic transmission itself is highly likely to be damaged.

Immediately after taking the measurement, release the accelerator pedal and continue to hold the brake pedal down until the engine speed stabilizes at idle (if this requirement is not met, there is a risk of automatic transmission failure).

Note: For vehicles with K4M engine, the crankshaft speed is set at 2700±150 min⁻¹.

For vehicles with F4R engines, the crankshaft speed is set at 2500 min⁻¹.

If the torque converter locks up at an engine speed that is not within the specified range, replace the torque converter.

Note: The reason for the torque converter locking at low crankshaft speed may be insufficient engine power.
