Removal



Cars of the 1st and 2nd stages of production



Worm-type window lifters

1. Remove the door trim (see Chapter 8).

2. Fix the glass in the extreme upper position using adhesive tape or wedges.

3. Unscrew the two bolts securing the glass frame to the guide.

4. Loosen the screw securing the window lift handle to the door.

5. Remove the two bolts at the top and one screw at the bottom securing the window regulator guide to the door.

6. Remove the guide tube.

7. Tilt the entire assembly and the door lock side and remove it.

Frame type window lifters

8. Fix the glass in the extreme upper position using adhesive tape or wedges.

9. Unscrew the three window regulator mounting bolts.

10. Pull the window regulator branches back and remove them from the guides.

11. Remove the entire assembly by tilting it downwards.

Cars of the 3rd stage of production



12. For vehicles with electric rear windows: Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

13. Remove the door trim (see Chapter 11).

14. Install the glass in a position where the two bolts securing it to the frame are opposite the two mounting holes in the door, and unscrew these bolts.

15. Fix the glass in the extreme upper position using adhesive tape or wedges.

16. Disconnect the connector from the window lift motor.

17. Unscrew the three bolts securing the window lift mechanism (and, if necessary, an electric motor) on the door.

18. Unscrew the two bolts at the top and one at the bottom securing the window regulator guide to the door.



19. Tilt the entire assembly and remove.

Installation



20. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Adjust the position of the glass clip so that when fully lowered and fully raised, it occupies the correct position without excessive play in the guides.
