Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Remove:
- bolts of fastening of protection of the pallet crankcase of the engine,
- protective screen.
Drain the oil from the manual transmission.
Remove:
- right front wheel
- drive shaft of the right front wheel.
Remove the deflector using a press and puller.
Remove rubber bushing (1) intermediate support (2).
Note: Do not scratch the oil seal installation site on the intermediate shaft (3).
Remove intermediate shaft bearing (2) using a press and puller.
Installation
Parts that must be replaced:
- intermediate shaft bearing,
- intermediate support rubber ring.
Clean and degrease the intermediate shaft bearing bore with a surface cleaner.
Lubricate the chamfer of the deflector drive shaft and intermediate shaft bearing.
Install a new bearing on the intermediate shaft.
Press the bearing against the stop using a tubular mandrel, with support on the inner ring of the bearing.
Install a new intermediate support rubber bushing.
Install a new mud deflector onto the intermediate shaft.
Press the deflector against the stop using a tubular mandrel, resting on the front of the deflector.
Clean and lubricate the intermediate bearing housing.
Install:
- right front wheel drive shaft,
- right front wheel.
Fill with MCP oil.
Install the engine undertray.
